In Summer of 2013, the SkyeTek M1-Mini was updated from version 6.1 to version 6.2 to include a newer and more affordable microcontroller. This was the only change on the part, and was implemented for two reasons:
- To bring the overall cost of the module down so that we can offer a better price to our customers.
- To ensure a critical component on the module does not go obsolete.
For most customers, this change should not have any effect. If you are supplying power through the recommended pin (Vin, pin 12), you will NOT be affected. If you are supplying power to the regulator output pin directly (Vout, pin 14), bypassing the M1-Minis on-board regulator, you may be affected. This is only a problem if you supply more than 3.3V to the Vout pin. If this is the case, you will need the M1-Mini version 6.1.
You can order the M1-Mini v6.1 directly through SkyeTek by emailing email@example.com or calling 720-328-3425. A lead time of at least 8 weeks and an MOQ will apply.
